Buongiorno Deli, the Italian food shop in Liverpool offers authentic Italian ingredients for cooking delicious food at home. Having worked in many coffee shops and restaurants, Carmelo and Kristiina were ready for a change. Carmelo, who hails from Palermo in Sicily, and Kristiina, originally from Estonia, sold their restaurant in St Albans and headed up north to settle in Liverpool. Carmelo likens Buongiorno to a traditional salumeria or bottega which you will find in any Italian town or village – a local shop that stocks a wide selection of cured meats and cheeses, alongside kitchen cupboard staples like olive oil, pasta, flour and tinned tomatoes. But it’s the packed deli counter which is the heartbeat of Buongiorno. Behind the glass there are many familiar meats such as Salame Napoli, Salame Milano, and Parma Ham, alongside some perhaps lesser-known options like nduja, spianata, guanciale and bresaola. The deli also boasts a healthy craft beer and wine selection.
